Portland Highland Games June 6th, 2026

ScottisH Fiddling @ PHG 2026

The Portland Highland Games is hosting their annual Scottish Fiddling Workshop, Competition, and Rally on June 6th at the Washington County Fairgrounds/Westside-Commons. For a full schedule of events, see the flyer posted below.

Competitors can enter the Novice, Junior, or Open categories. The competition set requires the following tune types;

  • Slow air (stand alone tune)

  • March, Strathspey, and Reel (played together in order without stopping in between tunes).

  • Novice competitors don't have to play the same music as Junior or Open competitors.  Novice can choose to play a Slow Air, then a Strathspey/Reel without the March, or they can play a March/Strathspey/Reel without the Air.  Junior and Open have to play an Air, then a March/Strathspey/Reel.

  • The National Scottish Fiddle Competition will be September 12, 2026 at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.  Fiddlers can play the Friday night before in their Regional Competition and if they win a place can play in the National the next day.  All National competitors must be members of Scottish F.I.R.E.  Click here to register.

Rally participants will play the following sets. Click on the titles for sheet music and recordings:
